SMT Equipment Engineer

Lead in operational activities which involve continual quality, yield and productivity improvements on assigned processes in SMT equipment engineering.

Monitor and manages equipment utilization and upgrading for product need.

Follow up on equipment / line / product transfer plan. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SMT equipment such as :

• Reflow ovens
• Screen printers
• SPI / AOI / X-ray inspection systems

Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal performance.

Discuss with Technical Lead and Program Manager on any issues that need support from inter-department function.

Coordinate and liaise with related department on any assigned ECN and DCN.

Minimize line machine downtime to achieve target plan. Ensure the SMT program are optimized and support production target.

Perform equipment setup and programming for new production runs.

Establish the standard operating procedures and trouble‑shooting methodologies where apply as guidance to technician on equipment sustaining.

Establish new equipment / tooling buyoff criteria with process engineer. Collaborate with process engineers and production teams to improve equipment uptime and yield.

Provide support for overall manufacturing and operation.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering with minimum 5 – 10 years relevant working experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and / or work experience.

Knowledge of SMT Equipment such as Pick-and-place machines, Reflow ovens, Screen printers and SPI / AOI / X-ray inspection systems.

Able to communicate effectively with all levels.
