Position Purpose
Responsible for leading the analysis, support, and optimization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems across the healthcare network. This role acts as the key liaison between clinical, operational, and IT teams to ensure the system solutions are aligned with business needs, regulatory requirements, and clinical best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in EMR components, DICOM / HL7 standards, server and database administration, networking, and storage technologies, combined with a solid understanding of hospital workflows and clinical needs. He / She will be the go-to expert for advanced troubleshooting, system upgrades, and workflow optimization, working closely with hospital staff and vendor / R&D teams. This role also involves planning and executing implementations, migrations, and upgrades, while maintaining clear documentation and ensuring compliance with best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business analysis for EMR initiatives, from requirement gathering and gap analysis to solution design and testing support.
- Engage with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and improvement opportunities related to EMR usage.
- Document and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for system configuration and integration.
- Collaborate with vendors, developers, and project teams to ensure proper implementation, customization, and alignment with project goals.
- Conduct workflow analysis and design, ensuring EMR features are optimized for clinical safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution, including developing test scripts, coordinating testers, and validating outcomes.
- Monitor EMR performance post-implementation, identify issues, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support change management and training efforts, ensuring users are equipped to adopt system changes effectively.
- Maintain documentation such as business process models, user requirements, functional specifications, and issue logs.
- Ensure compliance with health data standards (e.g., HL7, SNOMED CT, ICD 10) and national / international healthcare regulations.
- Support interface testing (HL7, DICOM, API) and participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis (involved in EMR projects is a plus).Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and patient data management.Proven ability to bridge communication between technical teams and clinical stakeholders.Experience in tools such as process modeling, requirements tracking, UAT management.Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., PDPA, HL7, FHIR).Experience working with EMR systems such as RIS, PACS, LIS, Facilities / Asset Management System (FMS), or other clinical platforms.Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Experience with Agile or hybrid project delivery methodologies is a plus.After office hours / weekend support may be required when needed.
