Job Summary
As a Sales Executive in our dynamic steel trading startup, you will be responsible for generating new leads, managing customer relationships, and driving sales of steel products across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for business development, and a solid understanding of the regional steel market.
Responsibilities
- Identify and approach potential clients across various sectors including construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
- Promote steel products and services through cold calls, emails, and client meetings.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and follow up with clients to close deals.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients.Understand client needs and provide tailored steel solutions and value-added services (e.g., document preparation, logistics coordination).Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.Market & Product Knowledge
Stay up to date with market prices, steel product types, and customer preferences.Understand the sourcing landscape (e.g., China, Korea, Japan) and steel specifications relevant to the Malaysian market.Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure timely delivery and accurate order fulfillment.Maintain accurate sales records and client communications.Communication and coordination with a China team for relevant technical information regarding logistics, manufacturers, and product specifications.Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Track personal sales performance against monthly targets.Report key sales metrics and feedback from clients to senior management for strategic review.Business Development Support
Participate in industry networking events and trade shows to represent the company.Contribute to identifying new market opportunities and areas for business growth.Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.1–2 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in steel trading, construction materials, or industrial products.Familiarity with the steel trading ecosystem and market dynamics in Malaysia and overall Southeast Asia is an advantage.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Self-driven, organized, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage for dealing with suppliers and clients from Malaysia and China.#J-18808-Ljbffr
