Job descriptionBachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; admitted to the Malaysian Bar is an advantage. Minimum 5–8 years of working experience in legal practice or in-house legal role, preferably with exposure to corporate, commercial, and contract law. Strong knowledge of Malaysian laws and regulatory frameworks. Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Key responsibilities :
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, shareholders' agreements, and legal documents.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on business transactions, corporate matters, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure the company's operations and practices align with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Handle dispute resolution, litigation, and claims management (where applicable).
- Support company secretarial functions, including reviewing board resolutions, AGM / EGM documentation, and statutory filings prepared by Company Secretary (to the extent related to legal matters).
- Conduct legal research and keep the business updated on new laws and regulatory developments.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal legal policies, templates, and governance frameworks.
- Educate and train internal stakeholders on legal risk awareness and compliance.
