Maintenance Manager

Job descriptionManage, mentor, and develop the maintenance team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities Ensure appropriate staffing levels and manage scheduling to maintain adequate coverage Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring regular servicing and inspections of equipment Coordinate with other departments to plan and schedule maintenance activities, minimizing operational disruptions Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources Monitor and control expenses, including parts, labor, and contracted services Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any hazards or compliance issues Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness Oversee contractor work to ensure adherence to company standards Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team and other departments Troubleshoot complex maintenance issues and implement effective solutions Stay updated on the latest maintenance technologies, techniques, and best practices Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including KPIs and metrics Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and company policies Lead improvement projects from planning through execution Demonstrate the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial maintenance role Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical equipment, machinery, and preventive maintenance practices Experience in lean manufacturing is an added advantage Proven ability to manage teams in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable about safety regulation
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the organization, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and systems operate efficiently and effectively. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on technical expertise to uphold high standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
