Ship Loader Operator

Job descriptionStrictly comply with port safety regulations and wear / use personal protective equipment. Inspect all ship loader safety devices (limit switches, emergency stops, warning lights, alarms, etc.) before, during, and after operations. Immediately stop operations and report to the shift leader if equipment abnormalities, vessel movement, or adverse weather are observed. Strictly prohibit operating while ill, violating safety rules, or working under the influence of alcohol. Perform daily inspections, lubrication, and basic maintenance of the ship loader (e.g., belt tensioning, material cleaning, oil level checks). Accurately record operating parameters, abnormal conditions, and maintenance activities in the Equipment Operation Log . Assist mechanical and electrical staff with repairs and troubleshooting. Maintain effective communication with the control room, dock dispatch, and vessel crew to ensure smooth operations. Adjust work sequence, loading sequence, and loading speed according to dispatch instructions. Report work progress and issues to the shift leader in a timely manner. Complete shift handover records as required, noting equipment status, work progress, and key points of attention. Ensure site cleanliness and safety checks are completed for a smooth handover. Secondary vocational school diploma or above; majors in Port Machinery, Mechatronics, Lifting & Transportation, or related fields preferred. Possession of a Port Cargo Handling Machinery Operator Certificate or Special Equipment Operation Certificate is an advantage. Basic knowledge of machinery and electrical systems, with fault diagnosis ability. Physically healthy and able to adapt to port shift work. Careful, responsible, and with strong teamwork spirit. Loading efficiency (tons / hour) Work quality (no overloading, uneven loading, or spillage) Safety compliance rate (no violations, no accidents) Equipment availability rate (≥98%) Completion rate of equipment operation logs and shift handover records (100%)
Job Responsibilities
Loading Operations
- Operate the ship loader proficiently according to work plans, safety procedures, and loading requirements to complete material loading tasks.
- Adjust the boom length, luffing angle, slewing angle, and conveying speed of the ship loader according to the vessel's cargo hold stowage requirements, avoiding overfilling, uneven loading, or spillage.
- Monitor the vessel's draft changes during operations to prevent overloading or unbalanced loading.
