Overview
Our Client are a leading logistics company specializing in door-to-door automotive logistics , covering ocean and land transportation, vehicle yard management, and customs clearance both internationally and domestically. We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and result-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead our operations and drive strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership : Oversee daily logistics operations across ocean & land transportation, customs clearance, and vehicle processing centers. Ensure cost efficiency, service quality, and timely deliveries. Drive best practices in logistics, fleet, and vehicle yard management.
- Process Optimization & Efficiency : Streamline workflows to reduce turnaround time and costs. Introduce innovative solutions and leverage IT systems for higher visibility and efficiency. Monitor KPIs (e.g., shipment delays, system utilization, delivery times) and take corrective actions.
- Supply Chain & Compliance : Manage supplier, carrier, and partner relationships for reliable, cost-effective service. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, customs laws, and safety standards. Mitigate risks in transportation routes, cargo handling, and documentation. Work with finance teams to control operational budgets, maximize profitability, and optimize resources. Analyze operational financial data for strategic decision-making.
- Team & Stakeholder Management : Lead and mentor operations managers, logistics coordinators, and facility teams. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with the sales team to align operations with customer expectations. Resolve escalated operational issues and ensure smooth handoffs between business units.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s / Master’s in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain (MBA preferred).10+ years of experience in logistics / transportation, with 5+ years in senior operations leadership roles.Strong background in automotive logistics highly preferred.Hands-on expertise in ocean shipments, land transportation, customs clearance, and vehicle yard operations .Proven track record in optimizing logistics operations and implementing process improvements.Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in logistics systems (ERP, TMS, WMS) and knowledge of trade compliance (Incoterms, customs).Benefits & Other Details
