Overview
To assist with the coordination and supervision of work activities in the unit. Maintains and monitor unit performance to comply with established policies and procedures in accordance to national sterilization and ESH guidelines. Participates in on call shift duty and required to work excess hours to meet department operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and organizes daily work activities such as receiving, decontaminating and processing procedure sets and instruments as requested by the end users.
- Ensures quality control in dealing with infectious cases by strict adherence to correct processing procedures and preparation of detergent used.
- Responds to complaints and rectifies the problem immediately, ensuring department efficiency and reporting end-user feedback with root cause analysis.
- Orientates junior staff in the function of the department.
- Maintains clear documentation in the testing and sterilizing process for steam and low-temperature sterilizers under controlled conditions.
- Performs daily inspection of sterilizers and CSSD equipment and reports any malfunction.
- Responds to disaster activities in the unit by supplying appropriate stock items.
- Ensures maintenance of all instruments and equipment as set by policy procedures.
- Compiles data on processed and unprocessed items for management review on production.
Experience & Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing : Minimum 1 year of working experience as Staff Nurse in a hospital or similar setting. Fresh graduates with Diploma in Nursing are encouraged to apply.Have a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and Basic Life Support (BLS).Preferably candidates who have attended training by IKN.Preferably staff nurse from different specialties (OT / Radiology / Oncology / Ward).Perks and Benefits
