Job description

Job purpose :  To professionally represent Bronson & Jacobs to an assigned group of customers in Malaysia. Provide effective management of existing accounts and to meet the sales, financial, operational and strategic business objectives

Accountabilities

Safety Health & Environment

Ensure that business is conducted within statutory and company SH&E requirements and show continuous improvement in SH&E performance.

Output : : Fit-for promotion of product range; maintenance of a safe working environment; provision of personal leadership on safety issues internally and externally.

Measures : SHE Charter conformance, SH&E rating in employee surveys, no product recalls; all incidents and complaints reported; label conformance to regulation; supplier conformance.

  • Understands the IXOM / B&J SH&E policy, regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Conducts all activities within IXOM / B&J and statutory SH&E standards
  • Implements and closes relevant actions from the business Safety Health & Environment Plan. Promotes company values into the market place
  • Ensure products have appropriate product literature, including MSDSs and specifications and relevant certifications, available for customers and transporter
  • Handles samples in accordance with both SH&E and MSDS guidelines
  • Works closely with the other Account Managers to ensure product compliance with market and regulatory expectation

Creative Customer Solutions

Constantly seeks to identify new opportunities and assess their value to the company and the customer / prospect in terms of strategic fit, profitability and risk to the business

Output : Establishes and builds relationships within major customer organisations to understand their needs and long term direction, and swift respond to requirements

Measures : Profitable maintenance and sales growth of customer

  • Provide information timely and  accurately  to request by customer pertaining to price or technical issues
  • Resolve complaints quickly and professionally, by identifying caused of complaint and provide solution

    Promote new market trend and recommend suitable products that will help customers increase their product value and market position.

  • Ensure smooth process of orders  from placement to delivery on time
  • Commercial Ownership

    Ensure the business run in cost effectively manner and with aim of rapid and sustainable sales growth

    Output : Constantly seeks to identify new opportunities and assess this value to the company and customer in terms of strategic fit, profitability and risk to the business

    Measures :  Monitoring sales and profitable margin outcome against forecast and applying corrective action when necessary to achieve the agreed sales targets

    Protects company interest ( GM, reputation, contracts, position, service level) whilst maintaining and enhancing  key customer relationship.

  • Achieve targets on Sales budget
  • Ensure timely payments by customers
  • Manage inventory to ensure proper stock level
  • Increase new sales from growth hopper projects
  • Manage supplier relationship and strategic sourcing of products for the customers' requirement ( pricing negotiation, terms, products, supply )
  • Working Together

    Developing and maintaining collaborative, cooperative and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders ; customer service, logistic coordinator, finance, warehouse, etc

    Output : Conduct frequent meeting with team to support process improvement

    Measures : Internal survey or feedback

  • Effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders developed and maintained
  • Proactive sharing and exchange of ideas from market, customers, suppliers, trends with the team
  • IXOM values, behaviour and principles actively demonstrated when working together

    Bronson and Jacobs Malaysia, markets and distributes ingredients for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics & Home Care industries. Current turnover is approx. $4M, primarily as a trading business, with 2 warehouses and many subcontract logistics providers. The business currently operates with 10 employees.

    Over 35 years of experience in South East Asia has enabled Bronson & Jacobs to join forces with some of the worlds' foremost manufacturers of unique chemical ingredients to the Health & Personal Care and Food & Nutrition industries. This array of products, along with Bronson & Jacob's own range and regional infrastructure makes them one of the largest suppliers of Health & Personal Care and Food & Nutrition ingredients in the region.  Offering customers full technical service from product advice, formulation assistance, to access to marketing and development teams.  Bronson & Jacobs distributes technology ingredients on behalf of many of the world's leading health & personal care and food and nutrition companies.

    Dimensions :

    Food ingredients sales in Malaysia comprise of global MNC and local accounts.

    Qualifications & Experience :

  • Diploma in Food Technology
  • Knowledge and practical technical experiences in food applications
  • Skills :

  • Knowledge of ingredients for food applications
  • Customer relationships management and selling skills. Financial accounting knowledge
  • Behavioural

    Competencies :

  • Proactive response, good interpersonal relationship. Ability to work in a team orientated environment, willingness to learn
