Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce workplace safety compliance according to Malaysian regulations (DOSH, DOE, USECHH, etc.).
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
- Organize safety induction, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills for workers.
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and safe work instructions.
- Investigate incidents / accidents and prepare reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper usage, availability, and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment.
- Liaise with authorities, contractors, and project teams on safety matters.
- Monitor subcontractors to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
- Maintain safety records, documentation, and compliance reports for audits.
- Drive Safety Culture, Kaizen and Safety Dojo program aligned with corporate direction.
- Coaching and driving EHS activities; providing firm guidance and discipline.
- Advisor for management on EHS law, requirements and actions for continuous improvement.
- In charge of incident / accident investigation and reporting.
- Safety advisor on risk assessment, process, project or equipment-based HIRADC.
Job Requirements
Education : Diploma / Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science.Experience : Candidate must have valid Green Book certification from DOSH; Minimum 5-10 years experience.Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety laws, standards, and ISO 45001 requirements.Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.Good communication, leadership, training, and reporting skills; ability to coordinate safety activities across multiple contractors and stakeholders.Ability to work under pressure, handle emergencies, and make quick decisions.Skills : Good people management and leadership skills; ability to forecast, plan and present.Malaysia Green Book.About Kalmar
