PASTRY ASSISTANT (PERAI, PENANG)

About the role We are seeking an experienced Pastry Assistant to join our bakery team in Perai, Penang. As a Pastry Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our skilled Pastry Chefs in the preparation and production of a variety of delicious pastries, baked goods and desserts. This is a full-time position within our growing bakery business.

What you'll be doing

Assist in the preparation of pastry and dessert items according to recipes and standards.

Help in measuring and mixing ingredients, baking, decorating, and packaging finished products.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and tools.

Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations.

Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.

Collaborate with the pastry chef and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely production.

Follow instructions and guidance from the pastry chef to maintain quality and consistency in pastry items.

Learn and develop pastry skills under the guidance of experienced chefs and bakers.

Contribute to the overall success of the pastry department by assisting in various tasks as needed.

At least 2-5 years of experience in a pastry assistant or bakery production role.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.

Good time management and multitasking skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Passion for baking and a keen interest in the culinary arts.
