What you will do
- Review, draft, and approve commercial contracts (primarily in Japanese) ensuring compliance with FedEx policies and applicable Japanese laws.
- Conduct thorough legal research to gather relevant information and support casework.
- Draft legal documents including NDAs, board resolutions, and other templates following company standards.
- Maintain organized case files and legal documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Prepare clear legal summaries and reports for the legal team and business stakeholders.
- Support legal intake procedures by verifying client information and identifying potential legal issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external parties, translating legal concepts into actionable guidance.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant legal developments and changes in Japanese law.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Law.Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a corporate legal department or law firm.Are a native Japanese speaker with strong business‑level English skills (written and verbal).Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy.Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain legal terms in plain language.Thrive in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and work well as part of a team.Are proactive, well‑organized, and able to handle competing priorities effectively.Seniority Level
