Overview
To be responsible for the accurate calculation and timely reporting of the Company’s capital adequacy ratio based on its risk profile (specifically for Finance area), thereby ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing crucial insights for strategic decision making and overall financial stability within the business.
Responsibilities
- To review the calculation of C2 Asset Risk Requirement and Financial Resource Adjustment (FRA) to ensure compliance to Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Notice on Valuation and Capital Framework for Designated Financial Holding Companies (FHC) for Licensed Insurer (RBC2) by the timeline as prescribed by Group Finance Singapore office which entails :
- Market Related Risk Requirement
- Counterparty Default Risk Requirement
- To review the preparation of FHC Financial Statement submission to Group Finance based on RBC2 accounting requirements to ensure compliance to MAS regulations and guidelines.
- To review and close the monthly accounts based on RBC2 basis and ensure reconciliations are prepared within the prescribed timelines.
- To liaise with Actuarial and Group Finance on FHC related tasks, to ensure consistency with treatment adopted by Singapore entities.
- To review the preparation of stress test scenarios as and when required by Group Finance and liaise closely with Actuarial to provide output within prescribed deadlines.
- To perform annual compliance review of the RBC2 submission against the Notice to ensure that computation and classification in the working files are aligned with the requirements of the Notice.
- To be involved in the implementation of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) RBC 2 which includes review the requirements of BNM Quantitative Impact Survey (QIS), calculations of risk charges and submission of the information required by the timeline as prescribed by BNM.
- To review and close the monthly investment fund related accounts and ensure the necessary reconciliations are prepared within the prescribed timeline.
- To prepare and review the daily investment linked prices for the Company’s investment linked funds by prescribed timeline.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification or full qualification in Accounting (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, MICPA, ICAEW).Full, partial qualification or in final stage of qualification in Chartered Financial Analyst will be an added advantage.At least 5-7 years of working experience in a financial institution preferably life insurance or established audit firms.Proficient in the Financial Reporting Standards and its applications to financial statements.Knowledgeable with fundamentals of investment and asset valuation computation and analysis.Familiar with a computerised accounting environment and be conversant with personal computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.How you succeed
