Role Introduction
The Technical Art team combines creativity and imagination with technical expertise. We are the bridge between artists, engineers and designers responsible for data design and art production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies in existing production processes to accelerate delivery.
- Collaborate with artists across multiple teams to optimize the use of the studio’s pipeline, workflow, and tooling.
- Develop and share best‑practice methods that help artists produce the highest‑quality work with maximum efficiency.
- Author clear, actionable documentation that outlines art production requirements; covering in-engine integration, third‑party and in‑house tool usage, and asset standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues inherent in maintaining a clean file structure and pipelines for both in‑house and 3rd‑party software.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise from maintaining production pipelines for both in‑house and third‑party software & tooling.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest tools, techniques, and best practices in technical art and tools development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong command of spoken and written English.Demonstrated track record in the game development industry, having shipped at least two titles.Strong understanding of modern game art pipeline and asset creation.Experience working with technical and creative partners from around the globe.Able to translate requirements into actionable solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent training and / or professional experience.2+ years of experience in at least one programming language for tool development (Python, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.).1+ years of experience using an industry-standard game engine (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity).1+ years of experience using DCC software (e.g. Maya, 3Ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Designer, Substance Painter).Familiar with debugging and optimizing existing tools and / or software.Desired Qualifications
Expertise with 3D Content Creation (Modeling, Texturing, Animation, and Rigging).Familiarity with shader / material development (i.e. HLSL / GLSL) or other node‑based shading languages (e.g. Unreal Material Editor).Experience using GPU / CPU profiling tools (e.g. RenderDoc, NVIDIA Nsight, Unreal Profiler).About Electronic Arts
