Head, Centre for Digital Learning plays a crucial role in expanding MILA University's reach and impact through innovative and high-quality open and distance learning programmes. The Head will oversee all aspects of Centre for Digital Learning's operations, including the standards of digital learning materials ensuring our online offerings deliver exceptional student experiences and contribute to the University's overall academic success.
The Head for the Centre reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and works with the schools and other Teaching & Learning Centers to implement the strategic initiatives for enhanced digital learning.
Responsibilities :
- Be responsible and accountable for advancing the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Digital Learning initiatives of the University.
- Provide strategic support to grow Teaching and Learning Department.
- Prepare and monitor the budget for the Centre, including any educational tools license and contracts.
- Responsible to support the Schools in the operation and administration of the ODL programmes.
- Collaborate with the Schools to set and enhance the delivery of ODL programmes and enhancement of the any digital learning materials and Self-Instructional Materials.
- Set and maintain the University’s ODL and Digital Learning Framework that includes Policies, Standards, and SOPs.
Operational Leadership - Technology
Provide training and support the academic staff and students on the University Learning Management System (LMS – Bright Space) and other educational technology tools to support learning such as Turn-It-In.Work with IT Department and vendor to monitor and resolve issues related to the LMS and other educational tools and systems of the University.Monitor the utilization and effectiveness of the tools used and make improvements as necessary.People Leadership
Manage, coach and monitor subordinates ensuring required support is rendered to enable them to excel.Communicate effectively with the internal stakeholders to enhance the delivery of ODL programmes and quality of the SIMs and digital materials.Able to communicate with external stakeholders in relation to the University’s ODL Framework to support University growth.Requirements :
Candidate must possess at least a master's degree preferably in IT or Instructional Design with a minimum of 4 years of leadership and managerial experience in higher education.Managed a team before.Must be familiar with MQA and regulatory requirements.
