Overview

Field Service Engineer role at Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases . The Regional Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing onsite technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for cryogenic equipment and systems for customers within the assigned region. This role requires hands-on experience in cryogenic systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Technical Support : Provide expert onsite technical guidance and support to customers on the installation, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic equipment and systems.
Troubleshooting : Identify and diagnose issues with cryogenic systems, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques to ensure efficient problem resolution while minimizing downtime.
Maintenance Services : Perform routine and scheduled maintenance activities on cryogenic systems, including inspections, calibration, and replacement of components or parts as necessary.
On-site Repairs : Respond to customer requests for on-site repairs promptly and effectively, utilizing appropriate tools, equipment, and resources to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Customer Training : Conduct training sessions for customers on the safe and proper operation of cryogenic equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with OEM and industry standards and regulations.
Documentation : Prepare timely field trouble reports, maintain accurate and comprehensive service records, including equipment history, repair reports, and customer interaction details, to facilitate effective communication and future reference.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for both yourself and customers during service visits.
Continuous Improvement : Stay updated with the latest OEM technological advancements and industry trends related to cryogenic systems through ongoing training and self-development, applying this knowledge to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise : The ability to understand and apply specialized knowledge of cryogenic systems, equipment, and processes. This includes a deep understanding of cryogenic fluids, gases, and their properties, as well as proficiency in operating and maintaining cryogenic equipment.

Problem-solving Skills : Capable of analyzing complex technical issues and providing effective solutions in a timely manner. The Regional Field Engineer should possess strong diagnostic skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently, and be adept at identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Safety Focus : Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by adhering to established protocols, procedures, and industry standards. The Regional Field Engineer should prioritize safety and promote a culture of safety consciousness among the entire team.

Communication Skills : Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective and efficient communication with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. The Regional Field Engineer should be able to convey technical information to non-technical individuals in a clear and concise manner.

Adaptability : Able to work in diverse environments and adapt to dynamic and changing work conditions. The Regional Field Engineer should demonstrate flexibility and resilience in handling unforeseen circumstances, such as schedule changes, emergency calls, client demands, and site-specific challenges.

Organizational Skills : Exhibits strong organizational abilities in managing multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously. The Regional Field Engineer should be able to plan and coordinate field service activities effectively, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.

Customer Focus : Possesses a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, striving to provide top-quality service and promptly addressing customer concerns. The Regional Field Engineer should be skilled in building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and proactively meeting them.

The Regional Field Engineer should be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

The Regional Field Engineer should continuously seek opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills through training, certifications, and industry conferences.

Experience

3-5 years of experience working with cryogenic equipment or a closely related field

Proven track record of successfully managing and executing cryogenic installation, maintenance, and repair projects.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to cryogenic systems.

Experience in planning and organizing field service activities, including equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.

Work Environment

Work primarily in customer sites as well as shop environments as needed.

Physical Demands

To perform the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.

Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.

Lift 50-100 pounds.

Work in both office and shop environments at customer and company sites.

Overtime, and on call may be necessary as the work load's dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and / or holidays, and travel required up to 80% to meet customer needs.

Travel and extended stays at customer work sites.

Conditions may vary at each location, yet are essentially the same as listed.

Job will generally be performed at customer site, or in shop environment and generally requires travel to a client’s office, production facility or industrial / construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.

A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates may be required to show a clean driving abstract for travel between the facility locations and client offices as required.

A valid passport, or the ability to obtain a valid passport, is required.

Ability to perform effectively in high stress situations

Candidates cannot have issues with heights or confined spaces.

Safety

Complete safety training requirements.

Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager.

Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed.

Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced with others as appropriate.
