Sales Director (Building Materials)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a commercially driven, results‑oriented Sales Director with deep experience managing multi‑channel sales organisations, whether in the building materials sector or in FMCG companies with nationwide distribution networks. The role involves overseeing sales operations across Retail (dealers / distributors) and Project (B2B / construction) channels, and leading a team of more than 60 professionals nationwide. It combines strategic direction with hands‑on execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate a nationwide sales team of over 60 people to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
• Develop and implement effective sales strategies for both Retail and Project channels.
• Build strong relationships with key dealers, distributors, contractors and developers to strengthen channel partnerships.
• Drive channel expansion and explore new business opportunities across Malaysia.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure effective pricing, promotions and stock management.
• Foster a performance‑driven culture focused on accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
