The Business Development & Marketing Executive will play a key role in supporting the Firm's growth by providing quality and effective BD and marketing support to the Partners of the Firm. This role requires an energetic and motivated individual, with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in working in a high paced and evolving industry, to drive strategic business development and marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the BDMC Manager and Assistant Manager on the completion and roll out of BD and marketing initiatives.
- Support the Partners in the entire pitching process, including managing and preparing pitches and proposals, researching, drafting, editing, collating information, and proofing, ensuring that the team delivers these pitches to the highest of standards and adhering to deadlines.
- Study the market and industry trends in the respective allocated practice groups, to identify potential clients and opportunities for the Firm, as well as proposing and executing ways to approach the new prospects. This includes preparing regular reports on BD activities, client interactions, and market trends.
- Study the current legal market / competition and propose appropriate steps to be taken to improve the Firm's standing.
- Track and identify relevant industry organisations and conferences to uncover opportunities for the lawyers to engage in targeted speaking roles and sponsorship options.
- Assist with the management of CLO's Key Client Programmes and various regional desks. This includes preparing regular reports on BD activities, client interactions, and market trends.
- Oversee all panelship applications and renewals with various financial institutions, corporations, and associations, on behalf of the Firm.
- Coordinate matter collection and reporting on a monthly basis, ensuring that relevant deals and matters are captured and reported.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and client needs, and provide insights for marketing strategies.
- Manage the Firm's submissions to legal directories and industry awards to raise and maintain awareness of the Firm and improve rankings. This includes gathering and compiling all relevant information, drafting the submission content, and liaising with the relevant stakeholders, collating Firm client referees, review and proofread submission content, ensuring compliance with methodologies, uploading and tracking submissions, scheduling research calls, reviewing and analysing results.
- Create online and physical marketing materials such as online content, brochures, newsletters, and promotional content, ensuring consistent application of the Firm's brand guidelines across all marketing materials and communication channels.
- Maintain and coordinate CLO's website updates, updating of Partners' CVs, and updating of CLO's Firm Profile.
- Maintain and manage the Firm's Corporate LinkedIn account, including but not limited to preparing relevant announcements, significant Firm developments and lateral hires, announcement of completed deals, awards and accolades received, authored publications, and conference speaking opportunities participated.
- Manage and coordinate Firm-hosted events, webinars, seminars, and conferences. This includes advising and assisting the Partners of the Firm in determining topics of interest, evaluating the success of events, and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate, review, format, and disseminate relevant legal updates and newsletters, opinion pieces, and article contributions, to clients of the Firm and other media platforms.
- Maintain and coordinate CLO's client gifts and premiums, including liaising with relevant vendors and maintaining stock counts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business studies / marketing / communications / law, or one of the humanities.At least 1 to 2 years of working experience in business development and marketing, preferably within the legal industry or professional services.Understanding of the Malaysian legal market and regulatory environment is an advantage.Essential Skills and Experience
