Head, Consumer and Retail Underwriting (GEGM)

Overview

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting, the Head of Consumer & Retail Underwriting oversees the management of the Consumer & Retail underwriting portfolio (which includes Motor, PA, Health and Fire). Responsibilities include leading the development and execution of underwriting strategies and driving profitable growth within this underwriting segment.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategies for Consumer & Retail lines segment to optimize portfolio performance, mitigate risks and drive profitability in line with GEGM objectives
• Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, key metrics and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Consumer & Retail lines underwriting team, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies and regulatory requirements
• Oversee the underwriting process, reviewing and approving complex risks, and providing technical expertise on the lines underwriting matters
• Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
