They are looking for someone to serve as the new Patent Manager in their office in Kuala Lumpur.

Your new role

• Handling patent and industrial design matters
• Drafting patent specifications, assisting in the preparation, filing, prosecution, allowance, grant and maintenance of patent and industrial design applications in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, handling opposition proceedings, etc.
• Instructing our foreign associates to apply for, prosecute and maintain registration of patents and industrial designs outside of Malaysia, including preparation of substantive arguments and / or amendments
• Liaising with local and overseas clients and associates in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Responding to opposition and / or objections by the Registrar of Patents and Industrial Designs and attending to correspondence with the Company’s overseas associates / applicants
• Writing opinions on infringement and validity of patent and industrial design registrations
