Manager, Investment Management

Overview

Develop and implement business plan and investment strategies for Conventional and Takaful business (under shared services). Manage the investment outsourcing arrangement and manage in-house assets. Contribute towards the company’s product development process, including the development of new investment-linked funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic and tactical investment strategies to optimize income and risks, and ALM profile.
• Monitor, analyse and appraise investment risks and returns of portfolios.
• Evaluate appropriateness of proposed new assets and / or securities and / or issuances.
• Conduct modeling for pricing and valuation metrics eg. Fund-Based Yields (“FBY”), and for capital management eg. ICAAP, and climate-related modeling.
• Manage outsourcing arrangement eg. Strategic and tactical strategy-setting and guide investment activities of external fund manager(s) in alignment with Company objective.
• Review, propose and manage the establishment of new funds and structure appropriate fund / assets in support of new products.
• Manage deliverables and engagement with regulators and / or industry organisations.
• Engage and contribute in relevant committees (eg. ALCO, RMCD, Board and Regional Committees).
• Develop recommendations and implement tactical strategies to optimize liquidity and financial output.
• Oversight of investment-related management reports.
• Manage portfolios and investment-linked funds under the Shared Services Agreement with AmMetLife Takaful.
• Oversee and manage the strategic relationship with key stakeholders (MetLife Investment Manager Oversight (UK) and Portfolio Management Unit (Asia)).
