Senior Credit Risk Analyst
Join RHB Banking Group as a Senior Credit Risk Analyst in our Group Credit Management team. In this role, you will develop and review Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC), conduct early warning surveillance, and analyze portfolios to identify emerging risks. You will work closely with business counterparts to strengthen the bank’s credit risk management framework and ensure sound decision‑making across portfolios.
Responsibilities
Risk Acceptance Criteria (RAC)
- Develop, review, and implement RAC for higher‑risk sectors across Non‑Retail Malaysia and Overseas Operations.
- Identify new or emerging risks beyond existing high‑risk sectors.
- Participate in annual reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of RAC in managing high‑risk sectors and customers.
- Support the Section Head in engaging with business units to address RAC issues and follow up on action plans or impact studies.
- Develop and maintain relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Early Warning Surveillance (EWS)
Identify potential problematic accounts using EWS statistical tools and monitor fresh triggers and market developments.Provide timely alerts of potential high‑risk exposures related to emerging risks.Prepare and issue key reports, including Early Warning Alert Report (quarterly), Expected Default Frequency (EDF) Report (monthly), Share Concentration Monitoring Reports (monthly).Monitor and ensure borrowing accounts are admitted into the watchlist based on EWS trigger criteria.Highlight adverse market news and review EWS triggers and controls.Support the annual review of EWS tools to assess effectiveness in identifying vulnerable customers.Develop and maintain relevant policies, guidelines, and procedures.Portfolio Deep Dive / Thematic Review
Conduct portfolio impact analysis, such as assessing the effect of economic changes (e.g., MYR depreciation against USD) on RHB’s Non‑Retail portfolio.Others
Support ad‑hoc projects and assignments as directed by superiors or stakeholders, providing analysis, reports, and recommendations.Undertake additional assignments as required by management.Qualifications
A recognized degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret credit and market data.Good understanding of credit risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.Experience in risk analysis, portfolio monitoring, or policy development within a banking environment is an advantage.Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.Seniority level
