We are seeking an experienced in-house legal counsel to join our team in the finance services / payment industry. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience as a lawyer, with a strong background in managing legal matters in relevant industries. This company is a leading B2B fintech platform in its field, processing over US$2B across multiple currencies annually. We’re looking for individuals who are driven to create meaningful value, take full ownership of what they build, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Legal Advisory : Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues related to the financial services / payment industry. Interpret and apply law, regulations, and policies relevant to the business operations.
• Litigation Management : Manage and oversee litigation cases, including coordinating with external legal counsel. Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations. Develop strategies to resolve disputes and mitigate legal risks.
• Corporate Legal Responsibilities : Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents. Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements. Handle corporate legal matters such as mergers, acquisitions and restructuring.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations affecting the financial services / payment industry. Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor compliance programs.
• Risk Management : Identify and assess legal risks associated with the company’s operations and transactions. Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies. Provide training and guidance to staff on legal and compliance matters.
• Stakeholder Communication : Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, legal firms, and business partners. Maintain effective communication channels to ensure legal matters are addressed promptly and effectively.
• Documentation and Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal documentation and records. Ensure all legal files are organized and accessible.
