Purchasing Executive

Overview

Accountable for sourcing and purchasing of all farm goods and services (raw materials, vaccines, packaging materials, spare parts, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate current and potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish long-term relationships with key vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable terms, discounts, and rebates to achieve cost efficiencies.
• Manage and achieve procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
• Ensure updating of stock card records daily / weekly and reconcile physical stock with the system.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, timely delivery, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
• Mitigate procurement-related risks by implementing effective risk management strategies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and quality assurance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
• Generate and analyse reports on procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
• Look for alternative suppliers or product options to improve cost efficiency and drive continuous improvement in the procurement process.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
