In-house Legal Counsel (APAC region)

Penerangan pekerjaanMaster’s degree in Law or similar, preferably an attorney-at-law with minimum 4-5 years of working experience from a major law firm or in-house legal department at a large private company. Experience with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contract terms. Experience with international contract paradigms is a plus but not a prerequisite. Conceptual understanding of commercial operations processes with attention to detail. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required. Proficiency in additional languages such as French, German, Italian, Spanish or Mandarin is advantageous but not mandatory. Ability to actively manage a network of key internal stakeholders as well as external relations (e.g., external law firms, advisors, foreign authorities). True team spirit, an open and curious mindset and positive attitude with the ability to connect and cooperate with various professionals at all levels and cultures. Confident in decision-making and able to take responsibility for decisions. Ability to work independently, pragmatically and to prioritize multiple matters in a dynamic environment. Join to apply for the In-house Legal Counsel (APAC region) role at DHI. DHI is a global and independent company dedicated to working on challenges within the fields of water and environment and sustainability. We provide advisory, digital advisory, research and water governance services as well as MIKE technologies and products. We are looking for up to 3 new team members for DHI Legal & Compliance. Join our dynamic global team at DHI as an in-house Legal Counsel for the APAC Region, based locally at our Excellence Centre in Kuala Lumpur. You will join a dedicated team of 10 other lawyers that work in Kuala Lumpur and Denmark on a wide variety of legal aspects close to the business.
DHI offers an opportunity to create solutions balancing legal and commercial interests while playing a key role in the organization. You will work in an exciting and challenging position with colleagues worldwide, engaging in end-to-end projects and supporting long-term solutions for making the world better, greener and safer.
Responsibilities and challenges
- Providing advice on all legal aspects relevant to the organization, including Corporate and Commercial matters, Intellectual Property Rights, Data Protection, M&A, Procurement, Risk Management, Compliance and Transparency issues.
- Focusing on the legal and commercial aspects of selling software and of selling consultancy / advisory services.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms with partners and customers.
