The Production Planner reports to the Site Planning Manager and establishes and controls production schedules to support the Master Production Schedule. Key duties include collaborating with various departments to optimize labour and material utilization, coordinating inventory management activities, and achieving targeted customer service levels. The role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize short-term objectives, and exceptional information analysis skills to effectively handle WIP and inventory levels within the global supply chain.

What will you be doing?

• The Production Planner reviews the master production schedule, focusing on short-term goals, and devises detailed manufacturing plans to optimize labour and material utilization. This includes performing finite capacity schedules for critical work centres and handling replenishment orders and changes using an SAP system. Maintaining close communication with manufacturing teams, the planner ensures production schedules are confirmed and monitors open orders to ensure timely customer delivery. Proactive reporting of product and material availability issues allows for swift resolution of component shortages, with clear communication to purchasing teams for efficient resolution.
• In addition to scheduling responsibilities, the Production Planner maintains master data integrity for assigned product lines, ensuring accurate planning within the SAP system for future requirements. They actively manage returned goods, products on hold notices, and recalls, taking corrective action as necessary to maintain inventory accuracy. Furthermore, the planner assists in developing production and inventory control policies and programs, contributing to the implementation of approved systems. Participation in new product launches, improvement projects, and Kaizen events aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs is also part of their role.
• The Production Planner is a vital member of the team, contributing to the smooth operation of production and inventory control processes. They are proactive in identifying and resolving potential issues that could impact production or delivery timelines. Through their attention to detail and collaboration with cross-functional teams, they ensure efficient scheduling, accurate inventory management, and effective implementation of production control policies. Additionally, they contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, demonstrating flexibility to take on special projects and assignments as needed to support organizational goals.
• Responsible for generating detailed inventory reports, analyzing inventory movement across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, and providing insights to stakeholders. Tracks inventory accuracy, identifies discrepancies, and recommends action plans by aligning end-to-end inventory flow.
