About the role :
As a Production Planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining accurate production schedules. You will collaborate closely with sales, procurement, production, and maintenance teams to balance customer demand with production capacity and inventory availability. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and unexpected challenges.
Responsibilities :
- Production Planning & Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and inventory levels. Adjust schedules proactively to accommodate changes in demand or disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Coordination : Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, production, and maintenance teams to ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are available when needed, and that production equipment is ready and operational.
- Inventory & Resource Management : Review and analyze inventory levels regularly to ensure alignment with production and customer requirements while minimizing excess stock. Coordinate with procurement to address supply chain or material shortages.
- Process Monitoring & Adjustment : Monitor production progress and key performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, delays, or inefficiencies. Analyze data and implement timely schedule adjustments or corrective actions as needed.
- Reporting & Compliance : Maintain accurate production and inventory reports, providing regular updates to management on schedule status, capacity utilization, and production efficiency. Ensure planning activities align with quality standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement : Support and participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production efficiency and reducing costs. Contribute to the development of contingency plans and strategies for handling equipment failures or production disruptions.
Requirements :
Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Production Planner, Supply Chain Planner, or in a similar role within manufacturing, logistics, or production environments.Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to liaise effectively with Chinese counterparts. Proficiency in Malay is also preferred.Strong understanding of production planning processes, inventory management, and resource optimization. Proficiency in using ERP or MRP systems is required.Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of attention to detail and decision-making that supports production goals.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Knowledge of Lean principles and production safety / quality standards is a plus.Good to know :
