Data Analyst – Kuala Lumpur

This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of outputs for multiple Global Insights programmes; with the aim of ultimately being able to manage and run a complete programme. Company Overview

Global Insights Consulting Practice – our largest business-line globally, runs evidenced-based consulting programmes, based on interviewing the leading industry experts to support the analysis of industry trends and the competitive performance and positioning of providers. The Global Insights Consulting practice conducts more than 50 evidence-based Insights Consulting Programmes annually, covering life insurance, health insurance, wealth management, asset management and reinsurance, across all major financial services markets internationally. The Programming Team leads the exploration of data and derivation of insights from a variety of global programmes within the Insights practice from utilising state-of-the-art Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) strategies to implementing interactive dashboards using a multitude of data visualisation tools. Summary Statement

We offer an exciting role within our Insights team for an individual seeking to combine their strong data management, analytical and visualisation capabilities within a genuinely global environment and to advance their career with technical development and leadership opportunities. This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of outputs for multiple Global Insights programmes; with the aim of ultimately being able to manage and run a complete programme. The position will work closely with a team of programmers to support consultants in the analysis and delivery of insights to our clients. It is expected that the incumbent will contribute project experience, research and analysis skills to the team. Own and manage the analysis and reporting of assigned insights programmes : a) Analyse survey data using descriptive and inferential statistics (SAS); b) Summarise analyses through professional looking charts shown in static reports (PowerPoint) and interactive dashboards (PowerBI); c) Deliver insights to clients (internal and external) showing trends and action areas; and d) Manage survey data from different sources – face-to-face interviews, online and phone studies. This includes data import, storage, review and cleansing. Interact proactively and positively with programme managers and colleagues from other areas of NMG to gain better understanding of the various programmes and deliver accurate outputs : a) Create and maintain continuous improvement actions; and) Review and enhance codes and data structure for more efficient work flow. SAS expertise is essential - you must have at least 2 years’ hands-on experience with SAS (Base or EG) to excel in this role with a strong academic track record SQL and macros experience is highly desirable and will complement your SAS work Hands-on experience with MS Power BI and related MS technologies Experience in leading or contributing to the gathering and documentation of business logics / methodologies Knowledge of other programming languages, such as Python and R and UI / UX experience Outstanding communication skills at all levels - able to build excellent working relationships with clients, team members and other stakeholders Excellent attention to detail, organizational, prioritization and time management skills We are offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for an individual who is seeking to advance their career…
