We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join ABL Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you are an accounting professional and solution‑oriented with an eye for detail, then this could be you.
Responsibilities
- Maintain payables, process payments, manage project revenue accounting, handle receivables, and perform reconciliations and reporting.
- Ensure efficient operation of the accounting system for the regional business, including maintaining project accounting, updating system information, and reconciling all ledgers.
- Assist with monthly account closing.
- Maintain financial files and records.
- Process payments to employees, freelancers, and office suppliers.
- Update supplier invoices in the system.
- Correlate timesheets, Work In Progress (WIP), and Unbilled Revenue (UBR).
- Manage unbilled revenue and ensure regular invoicing to clients.
- Prepare invoices to clients, including intercompany transactions, in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain cash collection from clients.
- Assist with monthly accounts and routine financial reports.
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Monitor intercompany balances monthly.
- Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
- Support monthly cash flow forecasting and credit control activities.
- Assist with year‑end statutory accounts, schedules, and annual financial audits.
- Act as a finance business partner for regional management in proposals and tenders on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Perform any other ad‑hoc duties assigned or requested by management.
What are we looking for?
Skills
Degree / Diploma in Accounting / Finance; ACCA, CIMA, or CA qualified3+ years’ experience in consultancy or service‑based rolesProficient in a full set of accounts and understanding of FRS (Financial Reporting Standards)Experienced in audit, payroll, budgeting, reporting, AP / ARGood knowledge of cost and management accounting.Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes.Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups); Power BI and Microsoft OfficeDetail‑oriented, reliable, and professional with high integrityStrong communication and stakeholder management across regionsSelf‑motivated, analytical, and adaptable in dynamic environmentsDesirable
Familiar with NetSuite and financial reporting toolsCommercially aware; able to guide non‑finance teams on financial impactExperience with inter‑company transactions, project costing, WIP trackingSkilled in process improvement and change managementCurious, committed to learning, and capable of managing teamsFurther Information
