SPEECH THERAPIST

Conduct functional assessment to determine required therapy for basic cases

Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties

Develop and implement effective treatment programs

Evaluate therapy progress and outcomes using selected therapy outcome measures

Provide counseling to patients and patients’ families about results of testing and recommended treatment options

Establish patient understanding, expectations, and goals for treatment

Identify risks of patient, environments, situations and equipment

Improve therapy by using new techniques and technologies

Recommend preventive and corrective measures for incidents

Suggest therapy based on evaluation of patients’ needs

Create accurate documentation and reporting for all patient visits

Delegate duties to support personnel as appropriate

Maintain communication with staff and outside agencies per state guidelines

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Experience working with diverse age groups
• Knowledge of various speech therapy techniques and tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in diagnosing and treating various speech and language disorders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to adapt to the individual needs and preferences of patients
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Proficient computer skills to document therapy sessions and utilize therapy software
