Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Costing Manager located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. The Costing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing cost standards for materials and labor, preparing cost estimates and budgets, analyzing manufacturing costs, and performing margin analysis. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with financial and operational regulations, collaborating with various departments to optimize cost efficiency, and presenting cost reports and proposals to the management team.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee and manage the overall costing functions of the organization.
- Develop and maintain robust costing systems and processes to track and analyze the company's production costs.
- Collaborate with the cross functional team to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement process improvements
- Collect, analyze, and compare actual performance against standard costing.
- Maintain accurate process cost information and reconcile standard vs actual costs.
- Provide timely and accurate costing and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Recommend improvements to enhance cost efficiency and operational performance.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and resolve variances through corrective actions.
- Review and analyze product BOM (Bill of Materials) variances and propose solutions.
- Prepare manufacturing budgets in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Lead weekly Pricing Committee Meetings with EXCO members to align on pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
- Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting and other strategic financial planning activities
- Perform ad-hoc costing and financial tasks assigned by management.
What we're looking for
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, MICPA, MIA or equivalent are an added advantage.At least 8-10 years of experience in a costing or cost accounting role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.Well versed with various costing methodologies, MFRS / IFRS, Companies Act requirements, corporate secretarial practices, Bursa Main Market Listing Requirements and other related regulatory requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.Proficiency in cost accounting principles, methods and systems.Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams.Working knowledge of relevant accounting software and data analysis tools.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.Proven track record of continuously improving costing processes and driving cost optimization initiatives.
