Role Purpose Role Purpose As a Partnership Lead at Finexus, you will drive strategic and commercial partnerships that accelerate our growth across payments, digital money, regulatory reporting, and our MyXaaS innovation platform. You will play a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and executing partnerships with banks, fintechs, regulators, merchants, and technology providers. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires strong stakeholder management across both external partners and internal teams.
Principal Accountabilities
Strategic & Business-Planning
Develop and execute a partnership strategy roadmap aligned with Finexus’ business goals (regtech, payments, e-money, MyXaaS)
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, competitive landscape in fintech, payments, e-invoicing, digital money etc., to identify strategic opportunities for partnership
Partner Sourcing & Evaluation
Identify potential partners : banks, fintech startups, merchants / ecommerce platforms, regulatory / government bodies, tech providers, compliance / KYC partners etc.
Perform due diligence & build business cases : value proposition, commercial models, costs, risks, regulatory implications, technical integrations
Negotiation & Deal-Making
Lead negotiation of commercial / partnership terms with partner stakeholders
Structuring deals : revenue share, licensing, API usage / pricing, exclusivity or non-exclusivity, service level agreements (SLA), etc.
Implementation & Cross-Functional Execution
Work with Product / Engineering / Operations / Compliance / Legal to ensure feasibility, technical integration, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery
Manage project timelines, KPIs, deliverables for partnership launches / integrations
Partner Management & Growth
Maintain and nurture existing partnerships to maximize value (upsell opportunities, enhancements, co-marketing, etc.)
Monitor partnership performance : metrics such as adoption, usage, revenue, transaction volumes, retention etc. Provide feedback loops and iterate
External & Regulatory Engagement
Engage with regulatory bodies / government agencies, given Finexus’ involvement in regulatory reporting, e-invoicing, digital money licensing etc. Ensure partnership compliance & alignment
Represent Finexus in relevant industry forums, fintech / payments ecosystem events, accelerators etc.
Stakeholder & Internal Coordination
Work with internal leadership to align strategic priorities, resource allocation, budget for partnerships
Prepare presentations, proposal decks, reports for senior management and Board as necessary
Skills / Knowledge
Skills / Knowledge
Academic Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience : Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in business development, partnerships, or strategy within fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, or digital financial services.
Proven track record in structuring and negotiating commercial deals across multiple stakeholders (banks, regulators, merchants, or technology providers).
Experience in a mix of MNCs and local companies preferred; exposure to startups or fast-paced environments is a plus.
Understanding of financial services, payment systems, and regulatory / licensing requirements (e-money, e-wallet, gateways, e-invoicing).
Skills & Knowledge
Strong commercial and financial acumen : ability to build business cases, perform ROI analysis, and assess risks.
Technical literacy : able to understand API integrations, product requirements, and compliance considerations.
Excellent project management skills : able to deliver complex initiatives, track milestones, and coordinate across multiple teams.
Strong communication and presentation skills : comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners.
Entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset; results-driven with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
Strong networking ability and established connections in the fintech ecosystem are an advantage.
