Senior Cloud Database Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Cloud Database Engineer will have overall responsibility for supporting the organization's Database Infrastructure from design through implementation, ongoing management, and support. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, capacity, and performance of all database systems, including providing 7x24 hours support.

Key Accountabilities

• Act as the core Database team member for the management and support of the IT Database system, ensuring service availability and capacity.
• Provide 7x24 hours support for the production database environment.
• Carry out database system maintenance, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and tuning.
• Provide investigation, diagnostic testing, and resolution of Database System incidents.
• Establish Database System infrastructure standard on compliance and security.
• Review existing DB infrastructure and manage enhancement / improvement plans.
• Design and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) Drill and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) processes.
• Monitor and manage costs associated with cloud database usage and recommend optimizations.
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud database technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions that align with cloud best practices.
• Assist in New Business Unit build-up and support existing business units.
