SUMMARY OF THE ROLEJotun South East Asia & Pacific (SEAP) Regional Office is looking for Group Purchasing Category Manager to manage indirect material categories and ensure the Jotun network has a steady supply of necessary materials at competitive terms to operate efficiently, by formulating and executing category strategies and action plans in line with the Group Purchasing Category Management Concept to deliver on the purchasing objectives and contribute in the best possible way to the long-term competitiveness of Jotun. This position will be reporting to the Group Purchasing Director - SEAP and will be based in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, Malaysia.
- Responsibilities
- Coordinate spend area management control with all stakeholders across the Region to meet country and regional targets for indirect material spend.
- Manage regional and support local- investments and projects on Contractual issues, particularly FIDIC green book. Ensure that all projects are following the the agreed commercial processes and procedures.
- Manage indirect material spend areas by executing strategic and tactical work per the Group Purchasing Spend Area Management Concept to ensure an effective purchasing process and to deliver on the purchasing objectives Continuity of Supply, Competitive Terms, Sustainability, and Value Creation.
- Ensure all purchasing activities are conducted in line with the Jotun Purchasing Policy to safeguard the integrity of the function and contribute to a professional and responsible Jotun image in line with company strategy.
- Negotiate with indirect material suppliers on a regular basis in line with the spend area plans and the current market developments as identified through market Intelligence work to deliver effectively on the purchasing plans.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with key suppliers in line with the spend area plans by keeping regular contact with relevant suppliers to ensure and achieve continuity of supplies, competitive terms, and value creation for Jotun.
- Contribute to effective cross-functional collaboration with relevant stakeholders in Jotun to obtain innovative, cost-effective, and competitive solutions from suppliers.
- Ensure alignment to category / spend area plans from local / regional purchasing departments by communicating agreements and following up on agreement compliance to deliver on the purchasing objectives and category targets.
- Assist the Group Purchasing Director in providing the necessary tools, training, and support to the local purchasing organizations to continuously improve their efficiency and effectiveness.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER
- Job Requirements
- Bachelor's and / or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years’ experience in purchasing, project or a relevant commercial field.
- Proficiency in negotiations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with a record of cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within the region and beyond as required
