Sr. Executive / Assistant Manager, R&D [Household and Personal Care products]

Responsibilities

• New Product Development & Technical Support - To assist in executing all activities involved in the technical development of new products or improvement of existing products in accordance with the company’s policy and standard, including working closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Co-packers to achieve results. Competence in laboratory skills, including formulation, is required. Products include household and personal care products such as shower cream, liquid detergent, soap, cleaning agents, etc. - To coordinate trial runs and conduct process validation of new formulation assigned by HOD. - To assist in obtaining necessary technical information for product safety assessment and other relevant applications (e.g., Halal, Eco-label, etc.). - Compilation and maintenance of Product Information File.
• Quality Improvement - To assist in applying new technology and ingredients to inject value and improve the standards and quality of products assigned by HOD. - To develop new testing methods to substantiate product performance / claims to comply with regulation / endorsement.
• Cost Optimization - Initiatives to propose areas of improvement for formula cost optimization. - To execute cost saving projects assigned by HOD.
• People Management & Development - Monitoring and conducting appropriate training to chemists / lab Technicians in areas pertaining to formulation development and lab safety. - Assist in achieving departmental targets within the constraints of resources and policies.
• Occupational Safety & Health, System Compliance, Internal Controls, GMP & 5S - Ensure that all products developed meet safety and regulatory requirements and provide supporting technical data for claims where applicable. - To assist Senior Manager, R&D in the smooth running of the laboratory by supervising the chemists and lab technicians, maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness, and upgrading or purchasing new equipment to support R&D activities.
• Others - Performs any other duties as assigned.
