Job Description

As our Wintel & AD Engineer you’ll oversee the management and optimisation of NEXTDC computing and storage infrastructure, including Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and Hyper-V virtualisation. You will drive the overall health and performance of NEXTDC systems, design solutions for scalability and high availability, support Azure integrations, and manage storage solutions.

Within this position, your scope will cover :

• Designing and implementing scalable solutions for Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, and Hyper-V virtualisation
• Overseeing the architecture, maintenance, and optimisation of Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and FSMO roles
• Developing and testing disaster recovery plans, managing backups, configuring failover clusters, and ensuring minimal downtime in case of system failures
• Monitoring system health and providing advanced troubleshooting for complex system issues; identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
• Leading automation initiatives using PowerShell to streamline system management and improve operational efficiency
• Executing security measures, including role-based access control, encryption (BitLocker), and compliance with auditing standards
• Performing patch management using WSUS or SCCM, ensuring secure and timely deployment of updates and addressing vulnerabilities
