Details of the Division and Team
Trade Finance & Lending Operations is mainly responsible for oversight and management of Trade Finance operations and Lending operations team and has an expert or deep understanding of the business, process, product and regulation.
The role is also responsible for driving transformation and continuous improvement, leading programmes or projects. The role also manages and foster relationships with various stakeholders and / or vendors. The role creates robust management and team structures through rigorous recruitment & people development initiatives, ensuring the team is positioned well to execute a high standard of delivery and results within a controlled environment.
The individual has accountability for budgets, risk control framework, vendor relationship and cost management. The role ensures that key process and risk indicators, controls, service level agreements and vendor management are adhered to and evidenced; this includes creating a strong culture of risk mitigation and management.

Your key responsibilities
Manage / Supervise Trade Finance & Lending Operations. Oversee development and execution of objectives, plans and policies within an operational context.
Translate business strategy / requirements into operational plans & ensure that new capabilities / services required by the business are delivered.
Proactively collaborate with all colleagues across other Operations, Business and other branches.
Drive continuous improvement activities for area of accountability leading to operational efficiencies
Responsible for all Audits, Regulatory reporting and Compliance with all internal & external regulations
Manage an environment in which all people can develop and apply their talents. Manage, coach, and mentor direct reports and others in the organization
Drive the achievement of high performance of individuals through effective career management, succession planning and development within the function and career development, as appropriate.
Your skills and experience
Minimum of 15 years of relevant banking experience with knowledge and experience of working in an operations environment.
Deep Experience in Trade Finance Operations is a must along with familiar with local regulations
Individual having knowledge of Single Customer Exposure limit, BASEL II etc. would be preferred
A high degree of accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail
Innovative approach to work (eg. Design thinking) and continuously identify and implement process improvements
Structured & determined approach to work, a willingness to take ownership of problems and an effective communicator / presenter
Able to affectively assess and mitigate program risks and dependencies
Able to work well, apply sound judgment and make timely decisions under pressure
Proactive and self-driven, who appreciate the challenging and dynamic business within a matrix organization
Highly organized and agile,
Hands on mentality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and fluent in both written and verbal
Financial Services understanding will be ideal.
