Your impact : We are seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to oversee the site-based delivery of the Communications and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems on a major rail transit project with the role based in Johor Bharu, Malaysia (Johor Bahru) for a duration of 12 months. The successful candidate will work closely with the project team and its stakeholders to inspect completed installations, witness testing activities, and review site-related documentation. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge of railway systems and installation practices.

This role requires the individual to :

• monitor the installation of telecommunication and fare collection systems ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications and safety standards.
• witness factory and site acceptance tests, verify test procedures and results, and support commissioning activities.
• review and comment on site documentation including method statements, installation drawings, test reports, and as-built documentation.
• ensure that workmanship and materials meet project requirements and industry standards.
• identify and escalate site issues, coordinate with the contractor to implement corrective actions.
• maintain daily site records, contribute to progress reports, and support regular site coordination meetings.
• liaise with other disciplines and contractors to manage interfaces and avoid clashes or delays.
