Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary level Mandarin Teacher to join our vibrant

international school in Sri Inai, where diversity and a love for learning are at the core of our

educational philosophy. This position involves teaching Mandarin to Years 7, 8 and 9 students at a

basic and advanced level. At IGCSE level - Cambridge Foreign Language Mandarin Chinese and

Chinese as a second language.

Teachers are expected to help students achieve fluency and a deep understanding of the Mandarin

language and its cultural contexts. As a Mandarin Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an

engaging and stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and encourages our students to

reach their full potential. We expect you to employ innovative teaching methods, integrate

technology in the classroom, and develop a curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse student

body. Your role will also include preparing students for their IGCSE examinations, guiding them in

their language acquisition through various forms of assessment and feedback. We are looking for

someone who can motivate students, instil confidence in their abilities, and cultivate a strong

appreciation for the Mandarin language and Chinese culture. If you are enthusiastic about teaching

Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging lesson plans for Mandarin language instruction up to IGCSE
• level.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and
• collaboration.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and resources, including technology, to enhance
• the learning experience.
• Provide support and guidance to students in their preparation for IGCSE Mandarin
• examinations.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress
• and curriculum updates.
• Collaborate with other language teachers to promote language learning across the
• curriculum.
• Stay updated with curriculum requirements and educational trends.
• Ensure lessons are responsive to both curriculum changes and student learning styles.
• Demonstrate flexibility in adopting new approaches and best practices in teaching.
• Organise and contribute to whole school events such as Chinese New Year and also
• competitions.
