Key Account Manager

Key Responsibilities :

1. Account Management & Business Growth

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to maximize sales, profitability, and market share within Watsons Malaysia.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including product expansion, promotions, and distribution improvements.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and provide actionable insights to drive revenue growth.
  • Negotiate trade terms, contracts, and promotional agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.

2. Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Watsons Malaysia, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders (buyers, merchandisers, marketing teams).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance) to ensure alignment with Watsons' requirements.
  • Resolve any business issues (e.g., supply chain delays, claims, disputes) promptly and professionally.
  • 3. Trade Marketing & Promotions

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and execute effective trade promotions, in-store activations, and merchandising strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Watsons' promotional guidelines and optimize shelf visibility for company products.
  • Track and evaluate promotional performance, providing post-campaign analysis and recommendations.
  • 4. Forecasting & Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing out-of-stock situations and excess inventory.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and demand planning inputs to support business objectives.
  • 5. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular sales reports, business reviews, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends, recommending strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Education :
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

  • Experience :
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in key account management, preferably in FMCG, health, or beauty industries.
  • Proven track record of managing large retail accounts (experience with Watsons, Guardian, Sephora or similar chains is a plus).
  • Skills :
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales data tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Excel).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.
