Overview
The Production Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing production schedules to ensure that products are manufactured and delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including procurement, engineering, quality control, and logistics, to align production goals with company objectives. The Senior Production Planner also analyzes production data, identifies bottlenecks, and implements solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Production Planning & Scheduling : Monitor production processes, adjusting schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in priorities, material availability, or unexpected issues.
- Production Planning & Scheduling : Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
- Inventory Management : Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Inventory Management : Work with the procurement team to minimize excess inventory and reduce waste.
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Process Improvement : Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Process Improvement : Serve as a key liaison between production, procurement, quality control, engineering, and logistics departments.
- Process Improvement : Communicate production status, delays, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Process Improvement : Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production goals with overall company objectives.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory levels.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in production planning or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Proven experience with production scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.About Ferrotec Power Semiconductor Malaysia Sdn.
