Overview
The role requires a hands-on Accounting & Finance Manager to lead and direct all finance and risk management operations, protecting and enhancing the organisation's assets and financial health.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial accounting and corporate reporting functions to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Act as the financial performance manager for the business and partner with Management to build a culture of controllership, accountability, compliance, integrity, discipline and quality in financial accounting and practices.
- Drive change in the finance function organisation and contribute to ongoing improvements.
The individual is operationally strong, detail-oriented, and capable of managing and mentoring a small team.
ACCOUNTING
Ensure month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of accounts are timely, accurate and in compliance with statutory requirements.Group Chart of Accounts (GCOA) management for Omron and mapping to Local Chart of Accounts (LCOA).Manage new LCOA and GCOA codes created; analyse, review, and approve month-end accruals and other accounting adjustments.Coordinate with regional and global counterparts regarding relevant changes and updates in accounting standards.Knowledgeable in both US GAAP and IFRS.FINANCIAL REPORTING
Review monthly and quarterly adjustment entries in HFM package files and ensure timely submission and transfer of package files.Perform financial analysis on group reports and financial statements.Assist in the full US GAAP adoption in the HFM package files.Standardise the reporting and controlling process to achieve work efficiency and support budget and forecast preparation.TAX AND LEGAL MATTERS
Review monthly, quarterly, annual Corporate Income Tax, Transfer Pricing preparation and other tax requirements.Coordinate with tax authorities on inquiries or assessments and work with consultants on legal and tax matters.AUDIT AND OTHER STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS
Coordinate and resolve issues with internal and external auditors on internal control and statutory requirements.Manage compliance requirements pertaining to J-SOX audits (internal & external).Review the monitoring, recording, and reporting of assets for Omron.PROJECTS, IMPROVEMENTS, AND INITIATIVES
Identify areas for enhancement, process efficiencies, and create process improvements such as dashboards and performance templates.REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors / College Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalentCertified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant or equivalentMust be a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)At least ten (10) years relevant experience in a senior Finance and Accounting roleProven track record of financial accounting & reporting capabilities and technical expertiseStrong team leadership and people management accountabilitySolid knowledge and prior experience in change and project management at the finance and organizational levelsKnowledgeable in JD Edwards financial systems, SAPComfortable with ambiguity and proven ability to challenge status quoExcellent communication skills and fluency in EnglishHigh energy and initiative with ability to thrive in a fast-changing environmentBenefits
