Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant-CPA to oversee the company’s financial operations and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards. This role involves leading month-end close processes, preparing accurate financial statements, managing bookkeeping oversight, and supporting tax and audit processes. The ideal candidate will also provide strategic financial insights through budgeting and forecasting to support management decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close processes and perform necessary adjustments.
- Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and statements.
- Oversee daily bookkeeping procedures and guide Executive Accountant(s).
- Coordinate tax filing with Australian public accountants.
- Provide audit support and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Monitor financial performance and provide insights for management decisions.
- Ensure internal controls and financial policies are followed.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA / CA preferred).Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting and financial management.Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax compliance, and audit processes.Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding junior accountants.Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience coordinating with Australian auditors and tax consultants.Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.Strong communication skills to liaise with external stakeholders and senior management.Seniority level
