Our client is an established international construction and engineering group operating across Southeast Asia. The Malaysian subsidiary (around 20+ staff) will soon commence a major USD 20M Ground Improvement project for a data center. The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing the financial and administrative aspects of this project.

Job Summary :

As the Finance Manager you will oversee project‑related financial activities, ensuring proper cash management, invoicing, and expense tracking. The role requires a proactive, hands‑on finance professional who can operate independently and support the Project Manager in Malaysia. The position is a fixed‑term contract (6 to 8 months, with possible extension).

Responsibilities :

• Manage cash flow for the Malaysia subsidiary and project site.
• Ensure timely invoicing of work progress and follow up on cash collection.
• Track committed expenses (e.g., POs not yet invoiced).
• Monitor supplier expenses and expedite urgent payments when required.
• Allocate expenses accurately and follow up on variance vs. budget.
• Oversee site cash expenses and ensure proper controls are in place.
• Collaborate with the Accountant, Admin, and Project Manager for reporting.
• Provide financial updates to the Project Manager and regional Finance lead.

Requirements :

The client’s budget is between MYR 8,000 – 12,000 per month.
