Position Title : Engineering Manager (Projects and Maintenance)
Reporting to : Project and Operations Head, MAG Culinary Solutions
Role Purpose
The Engineering Manager (Projects and Maintenance) is responsible for supporting project execution during the execution phase and subsequently maintaining the facility during operations. The role ensures compliance with safety, food hygiene, and regulatory standards while maximizing equipment uptime, energy efficiency, and sustainability aspects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Review and evaluate kitchen and M&E equipment proposals according to operational needs.
- Coordinate M&E and kitchen layouts with consultants to meet overall project requirements.
- Track manufacturing, delivery, and installation of all equipment, identifying risks early.
- Oversee daily site execution with PMC and contractors to ensure timely work, quality, and safety.
- Verify executed quantities with QS and PMC for billing and package finalization.
- Manage testing and commissioning of all systems before handover.
- Ensure all site works meet safety, quality, and contract standards.
Operations & Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance of all kitchen, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and building systems, ensuring all catering equipment are maintained per OEM and HACCP standards.Manage all contracted services (e.g., refrigeration, electrical), supervise facility upgrades, refurbishments, and new installations, ensuring all activities comply with aviation, food safety (HACCP, HALAL), and occupational health & safety regulations.Lead, mentor, and train the engineering team, tracking team performance and KPIs.Lead technical projects such as expansions, procurement, and automation, coordinating with procurement, QA, and operations teams.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or related field.HACCP, HALAL certifications preferred.Proficiency in AutoCAD software, MS Office tools, etc.Minimum 15–20 years of engineering / maintenance experience, with at least 5–7 years in a managerial role in food processing, FMCG, hospitality, or airline catering industry.Areas of Expertise
Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, PLC, and other utility systems.Strong familiarity with HACCP, HALAL, ISO standards, and aviation catering operations.Proven ability to lead large technical teams in a high‑paced, hygiene‑critical environment.Personality Traits
Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong project management and problem‑solving abilities.Knowledge of IoT / BMS / EMS systems.Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies.Experience operating in 24 / 7 flight‑catering facility, including exposure to hot / cold kitchen environments and utility plants, and availability to standby during weekends / holidays as needed.#J-18808-Ljbffr
