As a Platform Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain the network, server, and cloud systems that support the organization's critical operations. This role demands a strong focus on security compliance (especially PCI DSS), high availability, and 24 / 7 reliability, including standby / on-call support.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain server / network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, hypervisors, backup systems).
- Administer Windows and Linux servers for optimal performance.
- Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Ensure compliance with PCI DSS and other security standards.
- Provide 24 / 7 technical support and participate in standby / on-call rotations.
- Manage secure access controls (VPNs, logins, etc.).
- Collaborate with internal teams to align IT systems with business needs.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Deliver managed IT services with proactive monitoring and support.
- Execute Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery processes.
- Analyze service performance data and recommend improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
Must-Have :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Proven experience in network infrastructure, server administration, and system maintenance.Deep understanding of PCI DSS, vulnerability management, and threat mitigation.In-depth knowledge of hypervisors (e.g., Nutanix Prism, VMware, Hyper-V).Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Experience in database administration (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL).Availability for on-call / shift work to ensure 24 / 7 support coverage.Nice-to-Have :
Experience with server and network hardware setup and maintenance.Experience with cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance.Familiarity with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for cryptographic key management.Ability to collaborate effectively with development, security, and other IT teams.
