Manager, FXMM & Derivatives Post Settlement – Standard Chartered
Overview
This role manages the FXMM and OTC Derivatives - Cash products payments process globally for Financial Market Operations. It involves stakeholder engagement with the front office, external clients, senior managers, and support partners, and contributes to the design of settlement systems and processes to promote efficiency and scalability while maintaining service quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage the FXMM and OTC Derivatives - Cash products payments process globally for Financial Market Operations
- Build and develop talent pipeline; ensure processes and policies identify talent, develop careers and plan succession
- Contribute to the design of settlement systems, booking model and processes to promote efficiency and scalability without compromising service quality
- Engage with stakeholders (front office, external clients, senior managers, support partners) and communicate articulately
- Stay abreast of market developments and assess impact on production processes
- Deliver technology solutions that benefit the business and assess suitability and longevity of solutions
- Support the Global Head of Settlement to enhance risk management frameworks and foster a culture of zero losses and continuous improvement
Qualifications – The Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalentMin 8 years of banking experience, at least 2 years in relevant rolesExperience in Operations, especially in FX and Derivative productsUnderstanding of SWIFT formats (e.g., MT 300, 320, 202COV, 202, 103, 199, 299, 191, 190, 940, 950, 900, 910, 292, 192) and data interpretationKnowledge of Nostro, correspondent banking and cash reconciliationUnderstanding of sundry and suspense, internal GL reconciliationKnowledge of confirmation and settlement processesGood verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with TLM and Murex is desirableRisk awareness and RCA preparationAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines; capable of working in shifts and in high-pressure environmentsSelf-starter with effective problem-solving skillsComprehensive knowledge of global markets operations and productsCompliance with applicable rules / regulations and group policies; awareness of AML policiesAbility to provide cross-rotation within the section to increase flexibilityWhat We Offer
