Overview
The Senior Accounts Executive plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company by managing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the F&B industry's financial nuances, including inventory management, cost control, and revenue recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full set of accounts, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely month-end closing and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and monitor the general ledger and sub‑ledgers.
F&B Industry‑Specific Financial Operations
Track and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), wastage, and food cost ratios.Work closely with outlet managers to monitor inventory variances and stocktake results.Monitor daily sales reports from POS systems and reconcile with bank settlements.Assist in pricing strategies, promotions analysis, and revenue forecasting.Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and submit statutory filings such as SST, corporate tax, and withholding tax.Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant government bodies.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.Internal Controls & Process Improvements
Improve internal controls and accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for finance‑related tasks.Assist in implementing accounting or ERP systems upgrades.Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.Collaborate with procurement, operations, and HR to support cross‑functional needs.Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.Requirements
Education & Experience
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.At least 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the F&B or hospitality industry.Experience with accounting software such as SQL, Xero, or AutoCount.Skills
Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and accounting standards.Analytical mindset with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.Preferred
Part or full qualification in ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.Familiarity with inventory systems, POS integration, or cost control modules.Job Types : Full-time, Contract
