Job Description
The Senior Legal Executive plays a key role in supporting and coordinating with appointed Legal Retainers to manage the legal functions of the Group. This position ensures all legal matters are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support Legal Retainers on all legal matters including advisory work, litigation, contract management, regulatory filings, and court proceedings.
- Draft, review, and provide legal advice on commercial agreements, contracts, and internal documents.
- Interpret laws and regulations, offering practical legal advice to internal departments.
- Monitor and update management on legislative developments, especially those related to corporate liability and compliance.
- Manage & upkeep all legal related correspondence and documentation.
- Represent the company with HR in industrial relations matters, employee disputes, and hearings before labour authorities.
- Conduct internal investigations related to contract or employment violations and propose legal solutions.
- Identify legal risks and support the implementation of sound corporate governance practices.
- Maintain legal files, track court schedules, and ensure timely follow-ups with legal retainers.
- Support legal processes related to property development, conveyancing, and dispute resolution.
- Undertake any other legal tasks as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Experience in litigation matters to be liaison person with your retained litigation lawyers : a) preferably with exposure to housing, strata, company secretarial, land, construction matters; and b) most ideally with some tax, and corporate experience.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB Hons), minimum Second Class Lower.Possess Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) – mandatory.Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Malaysian Bar.3–5 years of relevant in-house legal experience.Solid background in commercial and corporate law; litigation exposure is an added advantage.Experience in property development and construction law is preferred.Excellent coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills—especially when working with external legal retainers.Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
