Illustrator Textile

Design original prints, motifs, and patterns for fabrics & merchandise.

Create seamless repeat patterns suitable for digital and textile printing.

Develop colorways, pattern layouts, and design mockups for textile applications.

Work closely with the production or vendor team to ensure accurate color and design execution on physical materials.

Research textile trends, color palettes, and design techniques to keep collections fresh and relevant.

Produce digital illustrations and artwork for campaigns, branding, and promotional materials.

Design creative visuals for marketing collaterals including posters, social media graphics, and event materials.

Support the marketing team with creative input and concept sketches for new campaigns or product lines.

Ensure all designs align with Bayu Somerset’s visual identity and brand tone.

Bayu Somerset is a Malaysian modest fast‑fashion brand founded in 2021. We design and produce hand‑drawn art‑inspired, affordable, and comfortable women’s modest wear—think modern Baju Kurung, Kebaya, Kebarung, plus coordinated sets, accessories (hats, scarves, scrunchies) and footwear.

3. Product & Branding Support

Collaborate on the design of company merchandise and decorative textile items.

Develop creative assets that enhance brand storytelling across digital and print platforms.

Provide design mockups or visual samples for management approval prior to production.

Work closely with marketing, and supplier teams to ensure textile and design outputs meet brand standards.

Liaise with external vendors (printers, textile manufacturers, suppliers) to finalize print specifications and samples.

Maintain organized files and records of all textile and illustration projects.

Stay updated on design, textile, and color trends relevant to hospitality and lifestyle branding.

Explore new techniques (digital printing, embroidery, screen printing) to elevate product quality.

Continuously propose creative ideas to enhance the company’s visual identity and product presentation.

Requirement

Diploma or Degree in Illustration, Textile Design, Graphic Design, or Visual Arts.

Strong portfolio showcasing textile prints, surface design, and illustration work.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva and other design software.

Knowledge of textile printing methods and color separation processes.

Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work under deadlines.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
